What can I do if I do not have an Android smart phone, but I still would like to use the SMARTLOCK®?

In this event, TRELOCK offers a practical alternative solution with the E-key. Using the E-key, the SMARTLOCK® can be opened just like with a smart phone. The E-key can be purchased as accessory for the SMARTLOCK®. Up to 8 E-keys can be paired with a SMARTLOCK®.

What is the E-key?

The E-key is an alternative possibility to open the SMARTLOCK®. It can be optionally purchased from a specialised dealer. The lock can be opened with the E-key, if opening with the smart phone is not possible (e.g. loss of the smart phone or empty smart phone battery). Users of non-Android smart phones can also use the SMARTLOCK® with the E-key.

What do the different LED signals of the E-key mean?

If the E-key is activated, the LED display flashes blue to signal operation. The E-key has a battery pack that can be charged via micro USB cable. During the charging process the LED display flashes red. Once the battery pack is charged completely, the LED display flashes green. When activating the E-key, the battery charge state is shown by the colour of the LED.

How can I open my SMARTLOCK® without a paired smart phone, e.g. if the smart phone battery is empty?

There are different possibilities to open the SMARTLOCK® without a paired smart phone: The E-key is one option. Alternatively, the SMARTLOCK® can be opened by an already authorised co-user or, using the key card, a new smart phone can be paired temporarily with the lock.

How is the SMARTLOCK® mounted to the bicycle?

The SMARTLOCK® is mounted to the bicycle like a standard frame lock. If your bicycle does not provide any standard mounting possibilities, you can use the ZR-20 brackets contained in the scope of delivery. The detailed steps for mounting the SMARTLOCKs® can be found in the instructions for use, which can be downloaded from www.trelock.de.

Returns to Fawkes

Whether it’s a jersey that doesn’t fit, or the colour is not quite right, sometimes you’ll need to return items to us.

Please log on to your account and you will see a Returns button, select this and the option of why you are returning the item, print the form off and include inside the package.

We can only accept returns by post. Customers need to pay the cost of return delivery unless the item is faulty.

If your have a large item eg Bike, trailer. please contact our customer service team at Guy@fawkes-cycles.co.uk to arrange the best way to return your item, the cost will be deducted from your refund.


If you wish to replace an item, the quickest way is to do this is to visit our web site www.fawkes-cycles.co.uk order your replacement item and return the original item to us for a full refund


When returning your item, remember to include the code and size of your replacements.

We'll dispatch your replacements postage free to UK addresses.

We'll turn around your exchange as quickly as we can and subject to stock availability, aim to dispatch your replacements within 7 working days of receiving your return.

Bear in mind that there may be slight delays during busy periods.

You will not receive a refund for the retail value of any free or promotional items you are sent, and you will be charged if they are not returned

Unwanted Items

If you change your mind on your purchase, you have a full 90 days to return it for a refund. All Goods must be unused, in a saleable condition and in their original packaging with all labels still attached.

There are some exclusions to our 90 day returns policy, which are detailed below:

  • Nutritional products or those with a best before date must be returned within 28 days*
  • Any customised items such as wheel builds cannot be returned*
  • GPS systems such as sports watches or cycle computers can only be returned if unregistered*
  • For hygiene reasons, any intimate garments such as facemasks, underwear and swimsuits can only be returned if the items are faulty.

If you wish to return your item for a refund, please follow the returns procedure above.

We try our best to process all refunds within 72 hours of receipt, however during busy periods allow 7 working days for your refund. We'll refund your item via your original payment method.

You will not receive a refund for the retail value of any free items you are sent, and Fawkes may charge you for this item if you fail to return it

Faulty Items

If you feel that your purchase has developed a fault, then please contact us with photographs of the issue before returning any goods - we may be able to solve your problem without you incurring any further inconvenience.

If you find a fault with your item, send it back to us and we'll take a look at it as soon as we can. Items sent back to us will undergo an inspection and It may be necessary to send the item away to the manufacturer to confirm the fault. If we confirm a manufacturing fault, we'll happily replace or refund it.

Faulty items should be returned within a reasonable time and in a clean and dry condition. PLEASE NOTE, WE WILL NOT PROCESS DIRTY ITEMS.

Please enclose all your details and a covering note explaining the fault and any other useful details.

We'll try to get back to you within 7 working days of receipt of your parcel, although during busy periods this may take slightly longer.

Your statutory rights are not affected.

We reserve the right to recharge return carriage on items where no fault is identified.
